People say, «A picture is worth a thousand words,» and I couldn’t agree more. I believe photography is a medium of expression. This week, I did my first photo shoot in a library. I want to share what I did to prepare for that moment.
First, I started to prepare a week before by searching for the locations; I visited these places and took some pictures to see some angles and see if the light was perfect.
Second, I created a mood board with the three locations and photo ideas that I wanted to recreate. Then after evaluating the places, I decided that I wanted to shoot at the library.
Third, I set a day and time for the photo shoot, I contacted the model and shared with her what I wanted to get, and she caught my idea.
Fourth, I prepared a portfolio with poses and ideas of how to shoot in a library. This was so helpful because having something in mind makes everything easier; you don’t have to think about the poses or the camera’s position. You have everything planned.

Last but not least, have fun. This can be a fantastic experience to learn and enjoy the moment, don’t be afraid to make weird positions to get the perfect shot. I consider that my preparation was helpful. It just makes everything faster and more comfortable for the model and me. In the end, I feel happy and proud of the results.
Something that I would like to do to make my future photo shoot even more successful can have a bigger space. The library where I shot was small, but I consider that having a more prominent space can give you more variety of pictures.
I can’t wait to share the final results; stay tuned.
