Four Reasons Why You Should Learn English

Have you ever wondered what would be different if you spoke English? Well, that is the question that every English learner asks himself before starting to learn this language, or as I like to call it, the beginning of an incredible journey. I started this amazing journey in 2013 when I was 16 years old. My desire started because I wanted to listen to music in this language without having to translate everything. For the 16-year-old me, that reason was enough to start. Eight years after beginning that journey, I have gained valuable experiences, knowledge, and opportunities that each person should have to know this language. Here are the ones that have impacted my life significantly.

It’s One of The Most Spoken Languages

According to the BELS website, “English is better described as the language of opportunity and is one of the most widely spoken languages in around 53 countries. This opens the opportunity for communication with around 400 million people worldwide”. A new language brings a new mindset; languages are most than just grammar rules and words, they are different points of view, and an opportunity to express the same concept in different ways can achieve more profound levels of understanding, so when learning English, you are taking to your life a new way of thinking which add more aspects to your personality.

English Is Mentally Stimulating

Learning a new language like English is mentally stimulating and is one of the most practical ways to increase your memory capacity because you make space for new words and sentence structures. Through this training, you will develop other essential skills for your life. Some are better decision-makers, and your capacity to listen and understand will increase. When you are being productive, your motivation grows, and therefore your emotional intelligence improves. It Would Allow You To Connect With People

According to the Academy of Culture and Language website, “The world is a vast place with more than 7.5 billion people, with over 1,121 million English Speakers (native & non-native). I would say that there are many people with whom you can talk and practice this language. Learning English as a foreign language will allow you to communicate with many people worldwide in different situations and environments. Some of them are for business purposes and travel experiences. Speaking English has given me a lot of opportunities to meet people and gain valuable friends around the world when it comes to me.

Opportunities Abroad

Immigration and job opportunity abroad benefits are included for an English speaking person; speaking English is a significant advantage by immersing you in a new culture, keeping you safe, and creating new relationships that will increase your opportunity to love the culture of others and have strong bonds with your friends, colleagues and contemporary family living abroad, all because a high level of bilingualism.

Many students are taking a step forward to learning English to have the opportunity to study abroad. Thousands of universities around the world are offering programs. To join these programs, you will need an intermediate level. Knowing English increases your chances of attending the most renowned universities, helping you achieve your passion for a field you want to develop in your career.

These are great opportunities and benefits. I can say that any sacrifice and time is worth making in this journey to learn this language. Many doors will open in front of you if you are an English speaker.
