One person was hurt due to a fire that started Wednesday night in Salt Lake City.

One person in an unknown condition was taken to the hospital on Wednesday night after being injured in a fire that’s being investigated what caused it.

The fire occurred between 1520 South and 1100 East in Salt Lake, and it started around 11:30 pm, 2 others and 2 dogs got out safely, and the damage to the house is estimated at $450,000.

During the fire, crews from 2 stations had to respond to the emergency due to difficulty getting the water pumping due to heavy snow surrounding the fire hydrant.

One witness, Sylvia Lopez, said: "I couldn't believe how big the flames were. I was worried someone was inside. I'm glad no one was killed."

Bob Jones, also near, said: "I smelled smoke, and so I looked around to see if I noticed anything unusual. I saw some flames, so I called 911. I was worried the fire crews wouldn't be able to make it here very quickly because of how bad the roads were, but they made pretty good time."

The Salt Lake City Fire department will provide more details about the cause of the fire. Stay tuned for the updates.
