RootsTech is happening now, this is what you need to know...

Salt Lake City - RootsTech, the world's largest family history conference, is set to return to Salt Lake City this week. The conference, which draws genealogy enthusiasts from around the world, will take place from today March 2 to 4 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

RootsTech offers attendees an opportunity to explore their family histories, connect with others who share their interests, and learn from expert genealogists and historians. The conference features a variety of workshops, keynote presentations, and exhibits that cover a wide range of topics related to family history research and preservation.

According to Jen Allen, FamilySearch's director of events, "RootsTech truly is about uniting…with your family first and foremost, as well as to connect with tales and discovery experiences through your family history." This conference is a wonderful opportunity for people from all over the world to come together and learn about their ancestors, discover new research techniques, and connect with others who share their passion for family history.

According to Jonathan Wing, creative manager for RootsTech, "The incredible blessing and miracle of the RootsTech virtual experiences are that we were able to affirm that there are so many more people globally who are interested in learning more about their family history, tales, and connecting.”

In addition to traditional genealogy research methods, RootsTech also features a strong emphasis on technology and innovation. Attendees can explore the latest genealogy tools and software, attend sessions on DNA testing and analysis, and learn about digital preservation techniques for family photos, documents, and artifacts.

“I’m truly excited about RootsTech ’23! I love learning more about my Family and my ancestry and I look forward to opportunities to connect with my roots and know how to better understand where I come from” said Nolli Pereyra an Ensign College student attending for the first time to the event.

Registration for RootsTech 2023 is now open. More information can be found at the conference website, RootsTech.org.
