A "great work" is a term that can refer to a wide range of achievements or creations, and what constitutes a "great work" can be subjective and vary based on cultural, historical, and personal context.
Typically, a great work is seen as something of exceptional quality or significance, something that has made a lasting impact on the world and that continues to inspire and influence others.
In a more general sense, a great work can also refer to an accomplishment or deed that has made a positive impact on society and has improved the lives of others. This could be a humanitarian effort, a scientific discovery, among other things.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we believe that we are commanded to do a great work in Doctrine and Coventants section 1 verses from 1 to 3 says:
1 Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
As a disciples of Christ we have the opportunity to participate in this great work by doing and helping others.
Social media has the potential to be used in a variety of ways to accomplish "A Great Work," and has already been used to create positive impact in a number of areas. One example is connecting with people. Social media has made it possible for people to connect with others from all over the world, regardless of distance or time zone. This has allowed for the creation of online communities and has made it easier for people to build relationships and networks with others who share their interests and beliefs.
